After a 5 year long break, Young Sociologists Congress returns in a stationary form!

The largest and most important event in Poland giving space for young people studying society to represent their scientific activities, will be held for the 13th time.

Young Sociologists Congress is a scientific conference organized by the Sociology Sicence Club of Jagiellonian University in cooperation with the Institute of Sociology at Jagiellonian University. For three days, from April 12 to April 14, 2024, the walls of the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University will become a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience of students and PhD students from various research centers in Poland and abroad. Previous editions of the Congress have shown how diverse social sciences and humanities can be, as represented by speakers from various disciplines such as: sociology, social anthropology, religious studies, social pedagogy, social psychology, law or political science. The papers presented at the congress are usually the first attempts to share the results of their research, and are often presentations of results obtained in the course of writing theses or dissertations, making the congress an opportunity to observe the first steps taken by the younger generation of social scientists. The KMS is also co-created by scientific staff who organize workshops and provide substantive assistance during the organization of the event.

This year, the Scientific Council will play a particularly important role, and in addition to helping to put together the conference program, it will also be responsible for evaluating submitted abstracts. The composition of the Council is also unique. Its member persons are the most prominent people from the world of social sciences, authors of many outstanding books, winners of many awards and prizes.

The return to the stationary form of the event, combined with the cooperation with prominent Polish scientists and the wide range of offerings of this year's event will make the 13th edition the best ever, and the event will extend its reach and influence beyond the country's borders. We invite to participate all those interested in social issues in general. Participation in the event is sure to expand the knowledge of each participant and will be a source of valuable experience useful in future academic careers.
