This picture shows profesor Jarosław FlisProfessor Jarosław Flis is a sociologist who deals with political communication, particularly its social and institutional conditions. He is the author of the monographs Illusions of Choice (2014) and Local Government Public Relations (2007) and co-author of four books on local government elections. In 2021 he received (together with Wojciech Słomczyński and Dariusz Stolicki) the Duncan Black Prize, awarded by the American economic and political society Public Choice Society for the best article published in the journal Public Choice in 2020. He served as an expert in the work of the Extraordinary Parliamentary Committee preparing the Electoral Code enacted in 2011 and was an active participant in the debates around the changes to the electoral law in 2015-2023. He has a track record of working with public institutions - from small municipalities to the Sejm, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland. Between 1993 and 1997, he worked as a spokesperson for the Mayor of the City of Krakow.
