This picture shows profesor Małgorzata Bogunia-BorowskaMałgorzata Bogunia-Borowska - sociologist, cultural and media expert. Professor at the Institute of Sociology, Jagiellonian University. Graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at Jagiellonian University. Graduate of postgraduate studies in economics and management completed at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Department of Applied Economics of the Jagiellonian University.

She specializes in the sociology of everyday life, visual sociology, media education and media culture. She studies contemporary cultural and civilizational transformations, particularly all aspects of life in a consumer society. She critiques and analyzes the cultural content and meanings created in the area of television, film or popular culture in general. Her area of interest includes issues of media education and communication. She is a recipient of a scholarship from the Science Foundation for Polish Science and a multiple scholarship from the Government of the Italian Republic. She is a member of the International Sociological Association (ISA), the Polish Sociological Society (PTS) and the International Visual Sociology Association (IVSA). She is a regular contributor to the Civic Institute and the Institute for Market Economy Research.

From January 1993 to August 1994, she participated in the creation of the first private television station in Poland: TV Krater. She hosted the main news edition. She did prime time reports and interviews on it.
