The organization of Polish sociologists was founded in 1957, with about 1,500 members. Among the statutory objectives of the Society are: promoting the development of sociology, disseminating sociological knowledge, shaping the professional ethics of sociologists and representing the interests of Society members in their scientific and professional activities.
